Satanism is a group of philosophical and ideological beliefs that are based on Satan. This group has been in existence long before its public practice. The Satanist groups that appeared after the 1960s were notable for two trends; theistic Satanism and atheistic Satanism. Followers of the former venerate Satan as a supernatural and omnipotent deity while followers of the latter regard Satan as a mere symbol of certain human traits.
The awareness of Satanism got to Central and Eastern Europe in the 1990s. Around the end of the twentieth century, there was a moral panic and claims regarding a devil-worshiping cult that made use of sexual abuse, cannibalism, and murder in its rituals. Children and young girls were the major victims. Since then, the Satanist group has faced rejection and persecution from other religions. Now the question is, do Satanic rituals involve sexual abuse, cannibalism, and murder?
According to Joy of Satan Ministries, “Satanism does not advocate or participate in any blood or living sacrifice. Satanism is not about death. They strongly support all learning, knowledge, inquiry, and free thought. They place no limits on developing the powers of the mind- known as “witchcraft” or “magick,” and they believe in justice.”
In today’s article, we shall consider one of the rituals performed by this group. Note that this is a general ritual that can be used to establish a relationship with Satan. When you get initiated and delve deeper into Satanism, you will be exposed to other darker rituals.
How to Perform a Standard Satanic Ritual
Items needed:
- Clean paper
- Pen or pencil
- Black (or blue) candles
- Incense
- Silver candle holder (optional)
- Silver chalice
- Wine
- Ritual robe
- Bell
- Silver bowl
Pre ritual preparation:
- Bathe before the ritual.
- Dress in your ritual robe. If you don’t have a robe, you can dress in black attire and ensure that it is clean.
- Prior to the ritual, light your incense and let it burn for about 10 -15 minutes.
- On a clean paper, write down all your requests, prayers, and/or thanksgiving.
- Light your candles.
- Fill your chalice with the wine.
Main ritual procedures:
- Start by ringing the bell, then turn counterclockwise.
- Invoke the Four Crowned Princes of Hell.
- Begin with Satan/Lucifer to the East.
- Point your left index finger (or you can use an athame) and visualize a stream of electric blue light entering your being through your index finger.
- Turn to the North and invoke BEELZEBUB.
- Turn to the West and invoke ASTAROTH.
- Turn to the South and invoke AZAZEL.
As you make each turn, your entire being is charged, and the blue energy becomes more intense.
Then, recite the Invocation to Satan:
INVOCATION TO SATAN
In Nomine Dei Nostri Satanas, Luciferi Excelsi.
In the Name of Satan, Ruler of the Earth, True God, Almighty, and Ineffable, Who hast created man to reflect in Thine own image and likeness, I invite the Forces of Darkness to bestow their infernal power upon me. Open the Gates of Hell to come forth to greet me as your Brother/Sister and friend.
Deliver me O Mighty Satan from all past error and delusion, fill me with truth, wisdom, and understanding, keep me strong in my faith and service, that I may always abide in Thee with Praise, Honor, and Glory be given Thee forever and ever.
Going further:
Drink from the chalice. At this point, you can read aloud your petition/prayer to your Father Satan. After reading it, light the petition paper with the candle flame and place it in the silver bowl to burn.
Enter into a meditative state. Recite some satanic prayers. Commune with your father and when you are satisfied, end the ritual by saying:
HAIL SATAN
Turn clockwise and ring the bell.
Significance of the Steps in the Satanic Ritual
Ringing the bell:
When a bell is rung during a ritual, it increases the vibration and energy in the premises. The ringing of the bell can be used to dispel evil and welcome the spirit. The sound of the bell would disengage your mind from ongoing thoughts, thus making the mind more receptive.
Invoking the Powers of Hell.
This serves as a means of invoking the Elements. The Crowned Princes represent an essential aspect of your soul.
On candles
In the above ritual, black candles were recommended, but you can use blue or red candles as an alternative. Blue is the color of Lucifer, and demons often show up in a blue aura.
On prayers and the Invocation to Satan
Prayers are channels of communication between you and Satan. You can vibrate words of power, runes, mantras, etc. while focusing and directing the energies. Below is the “Hail Satan” Prayer.
AVE SATANA!
Hail, Satan, Lord of Darkness, King of Hell, Ruler of the Earth, God of this World!
God, who invites us to become as gods! Muse of our civilization, Dread Enemy of its tyrant god! Satan, mighty Liberator, Bearer of true Light!
God of our flesh, God of our minds, God of our innermost Will!
O mighty Lord Satan, teach us to become strong and wise! Teach us to vanquish the enemies
God, who invites us to become as gods!
Teach us to become strong and wise! Teach us to vanquish the enemies of our freedom and well-being!
REGE SATANA!
CONCLUSION
All Satanic rituals have a deeper meaning, therefore, before indulging in them, you must be fully aware of the dangers that you might encounter. Always remember that selling your soul to the devil comes with a price that you must pay. So be sure that you are ready before taking any step. If you are a beginner, I suggest that you seek guidance from experienced Satanists to avoid making terrible mistakes.
